Sony 90mm f2.8 macro review

Sony 90mm f2.8 macro review

I’m a professional photographer and only got this lens yesterday but having seen the reviews on line I knew that wanted and needed it to add to my collection. I’ve got to say that the reviews weren’t hyperbole – this lens is amazing.

Since the lens arrived I’ve been trawling my garden for subjects to shoot and having lots of fun doing it.

I’m not going to go on and on about how to use the lens, there are loads of YouTube videos out there already but I wanted to show how good the lens is handheld – I haven’t used it with a tripod yet.

I shot the photos at ISO 500 to keep the shutter speed up and in the main at F5 – F8 although I did take some evening shots at ISO 1600. The results throughout are stunning and the lens is fabulously sharp

Who would ever have thought that photographing flies and insects could be so interesting!!

The shots were taken with the Sony a7R3 but I plan to take more with the A9 to compare.
