Choosing the perfect wedding dress for your big day is one of the most important decisions you will make about your wedding. As professional Sheffield wedding photographer, we see so many absolutely beautiful dresses, both for brides and bridesmaids. It’s such a pleasure to photograph them all!
There are many different styles of wedding dress, and before you make a decision you will obviously want to explore all the options. We’ve put together a few examples of our favourite dresses and beautiful embellishments from some of the dresses that we have had the pleasure of photographing, which will hopefully inspire you in your quest to find the perfect dress.
Lace-up Back Wedding Dress
In centuries gone by, back closures on women’s clothes were a sign of wealth because it implied that she could afford a servant to help her dress. Although this isn’t really applicable now, they still look fantastic! Lace-up backed wedding dresses are tied up at the back using a thin sash of material, criss-crossing across the back in the way that a corset would be fastened. As you can see from this beautiful example, the white satin ribbon has been threaded to create a lovely effect, with a material panel set behind it to complete the look.
Strapless Full Wedding Gown in White
This is a great example of a fairly simple yet stunning wedding dress. The bride has made the most of the strapless design by adding a lovely necklace and decorative headpiece, and the bust and waist of the dress is made up of delicate ruffles of white satin for a very flattering effect.
Statement Bow with Vintage Lace
This was a particularly gorgeous example of a wedding dress that we were lucky enough to snap on our travels as wedding photographers in Sheffield. The dress itself was an understated ivory colour made from the most delicate vintage lace material. Details of the lace could be seen clearly against the bride’s skin and the tiny satin covered buttons that ran down the back were just lovely. Finally, a statement bow in the palest pink finished off the dress in style.
