Drone Video – Fulford, York

Aerial video of a Civil Engineering Project

One of my clients, Howard Civil Engineering link to website asked me to take a series of aerial photos and create an aerial video of a project they have been working on for Persimmon Homes in Fulford on the outskirts of  York.

Howard Civils has created new roads, road junctions with traffic lights, a flood alleviation system and a wildlife and wetland area.

Quality of video footage and stills

I always shoot in 4k for video and raw for still so that I have the highest quality possible for my clients.

Drone safety

I have been CAA approved to fly drones for several years and as much as I love what I do I take drone flying very seriously.

Before any flight I do a search on Google Maps to check the area and then a physical on site survey when I get there by walking the site to determine possible safety hazards. A risk assessment is part of the pre flight paperwork that I complete prior to any job I do – even if I’ve been to the site many times.

It is always best to use CAA approved drone pilots

If you use non CAA approved or uninsured drone pilots you are opening yourself or your company up to serious legal problems should something happen.

To become CAA approved to fly drones takes a lot of work, exams, flight tests and several other hoops to jump through before the CAA grant you your Permissions for Commercial Operations (PfCO) and you have to be reapproved each  year to carry on flying.

Would you use a JCB or other plant operator who wasn’t qualified? Treat the use of drones in the same way and you shouldn’t go far wrong.
